WBCYC Mission
The WBCYC is committed to providing a positive and supportive environment for children. “Where every kid plays and volunteers count!”
- NCAA Rules govern league play for girls and National Federation for boys. No three point field goals.
- All players should receive an equal amount of playing time. Every 5 minutes the coach must rotate their players. (If the team has less then 10 players all players must be rotated, every child should have an equal amount of playing time.)
- The game will consist of 2 halves, 20 minutes each half, running time. The last 2 minutes of the game the clock will stop on dead balls. If a game results in a tie, no overtime will be played.
- Game will commence with a jump ball and determines alternate possession.
- Blue color uniform designates the home team, gold the visitors. The home team is responsible for keeping the clock, score & book.
- If a team goes ahead by more then 15 points they must complete 5 passes before shooting the ball. (Two players standing together passing, is not in the spirit of the game and does not constitute a completed pass. The Referee will control the number of completed passes. Additionally, running up the score will not be tolerated.
- Teams can play zone or man to man defense. Pressing is not allowed in the backcourt. (For example, once the ball has changed possession, as a direct result of a rebound, stolen or errant pass or take away from a dribbler, the team now on offense must drop back to defense).
- Team fouls = 10 per half and will result in 2 free throws. If a player reaches 5 personal fouls they will be removed from the game.
- Each team is allowed two, 1 minute time outs, 1 in the first half and the 2nd in the second half (time outs can not be carried over into the next half).
- Games cannot be rescheduled, unless WBCYC Office is contacted first (Phone 661-1333) to verify gym availability. The reschedule is subject to the WBCYC Board approval. Additionally, both coaches must agree.
- Coaches can be replaced based on the Board of Directors discretion.
